In order to excel in IT field you need not to do Master's compulsory. If you want to excel in IT field I would say focus on software skills all the big software companies  companies are demanding skilled software engineers with good coding skills. Data scientist is a new craze and companies are focusing on it in addition to it web design, graphics design, app design etc are evergreen. If you want to do ME in computer science then you are eligible and will surely benefit in your career.
