Hello Aspirant,
If your SC caste certificate is from Gujarat, you will not be eligible for state quota reservation in Maharashtra because the state quota reservation in Maharashtra, requires a caste certificate issued by Maharashtra only.
However, you will get SC reservation under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC counselling and also for government colleges in Mumbai through AIQ. MCC allows Caste certificates issued from any State for use on central quota seats, as long as it is approved and valid. So yes, you can get SC reservation for Mumbai Colleges through AIQ via MCC counselling.
Hi,
Thank you for your question
If you hold Maharashtra domicile but your SC certificate is from Gujarat, you cannot claim SC reservation in Maharashtra state counselling. Your caste certificate must be from the same state you’re applying in. However, you can still participate in All India Quota through MCC for NEET, which doesn’t rely on state domicile or caste. AIQ admissions only consider NEET score and central reservation categories so yes, you can avail AIQ seats based on your status if your Gujarat certificate is accepted nationally. Remember to carry all documents during AIQ counselling for verification.
