I am from Kerala and I did my M.Tech from DIAT, Pune. I did not face any problems staying there for two years even without knowing hindi or Marathi that well

You can try for really good colleges like COEP, Pune where there will be students coming from different parts of India. Just make friends there and you will be fine. Trust me Languae will not be that much of a barrier as you think.

You can try Mumbai also.
