Dear Tanu, we cannot stop people from talking. But what we can surely control is what we "hear" and what we "listen". Hearing is just giving an ear without paying attention to it. For example, you are travelling in a train. You can hear too many sounds. But your focus is on the conversations with your friends. So, you are aware of the surroundings, conversations and sounds around you but you choose to continue talking to your friends and only concentrate on that part. Now listening is what you put your heart in. Lets say you are in the same train and you are still conversing with your friends. You still hear the same sounds around you. But you are concentrated on what your friend has to say. Now you are "listening" to what your friend is speaking. May be you should try this out. Ignore what you do not want to hear.
