Hello,

So, if you really want to improve your skills, read lots of matter in English. Preferably, English classic authors. Read it aloud to listen to what you read, that helps in retaining the semantics and the syntax. If needed, write precis of what you read, to be able to reduce spelling and punctuation errors.

Grammar books may help, but they will only suggest you with the basic rules for developing sample sentences. It will not acquaint you with the variety of words, neither is it going to give you a very sharp skill at writing or while talking.

To improve your vocabulary,you should read newspaper.. Newspaper like THE HINDU,THE TIMES OF INDIA where you encounter with words which will definitely improve your vocabulary and also you will get sentences of those words.Underline or note down words and try to memorize those words..
