No you are not eligible for GATE 2022 as you are in second year of your graduation. The candidates who are in their third year or final year are eligible to give GATE 2022. So you will be eligible to GATE next year not this year. IIT Kharagpur has released the GATE 2022 eligibility criteria at gate.iitkgp.ac.in Candidates in pre-final or final year of their qualifying degree are eligible to appear for GATE 2022.

General Eligibility for GATE 2022 :-

As per the newly changes introduced from the year 2021, candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2+2 or 10+3+1 are eligible to apply.

Also, those who are currently appearing in the 3rd year of their UG degree/ higher years of study or graduated in any Govt. approved degree course in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Arts/ Commerce are eligible to apply for GATE 2022.

There is not any minimum or maximum age limit is prescribed for this examination.
