See, Organic Chemistry is a vast subject ,so importantly you need to stick with the syllabus. There is a whole sea of text available which ,in fact , is of brilliant standard …So actually figuring out what’s in and what’s out would be difficult (and more importantly time consuming). So you must your instructor’s notes religiously ,focus more on solving a wide variety of problems(Look for M.S. Chauhan’s Advance Problems in Jee,though it has some really super-difficult questions but you might skip on advice of your instructor) and if time allows read utmost one book.,Paula Bruice would be great, its really awesome, covers everything from scratch that too with great lucidity)

also I am attaching a link please check it out

Hope you find it helpful

let me know in the comment box if you are having any further doubts

thanks

Good Luck!

If you are very much interested in O.C. or involved with olympiads, then I would suggest a few more titles:

Morrison & Boyd,(A great read, Covers biomolecules up till exhaustion)

Solomon & Fryhle(its exhaustive, but the adapted portions are difficult to comprehend)

I.L. Finar(This is some kind of holy text on O.C.,too old fashioned, really advanced, might be used as a reference, has ozonolysis mechanism explained)

J. Clayden, N. Greeves, S. Warren and P. Wothers, “Organic Chemistry”:(this one is huge and contains possibly too much but all brilliantly explained

Hello dear student,
Greetings!
If you are one of those who is very good at english and understanding the subject SOLOMON'S or other foreign author books are good.but if you want from the very first basics better prefer OP TANDON.
As far as OP Tondon is considered (for organic) , it is only good for learning new concepts and stuff .
Coming to solomons, The book is great to study organic chemistry but requires you to have atleast some basic knowledge of the subject.
Thankyou
Good luck
