The National Entrance Screening Test (popularly known as NEST) is an annual college entrance examination in India, conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER) .

• You should be a Class XII pass in science stream from a recognised board in India with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. (55% for SC/PwD category candidates).
• The General Section (Section 1) is a compulsory section for all. Candidate can choose to attempt any three subjects out of the four subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology.
• So your problem is solved without maths which is optional you can score good marks.
• Only three out of the four subjects with the highest score will be considered for the merit calculation.

How to prepare for the same :

• Before starting the preparation of NEST 2021 entrance exam, you must go through the complete syllabus.
• You must go through the concepts and then prepare for various topics. Understanding the concept must be primary thing to be followed.
• Attempting mock tests helps to know how to cope up with various types of questions in a limited duration of time.

The recent eligibility criteria for NEST exam states that the candidate must have passed class 12th with minimum 60% marks in science stream from a recognised board of education. From last year, maths is also given equal importance and is compulsory to attend. So, the best way to prepare is to be aware of the current happenings in the world that is current affairs, general knowledge and practise previous year question papers.
