Some of the popular exams to get admission into top colleges for genetic engineering which you can give after 12th are:

JEE MAINS/ Advanced (IITs and NITs do not offer Genetic engg, so can take biotechnology or life science in undergraduation).
BITSAT
Amity JEE
SRMJEE
AISEEE

Some of the top colleges for Genetic engineering in India are:

SRM University, Bharath University Chennai Tamil Nadu, Aryabhatta Knowledge University Patna Bihar, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research Bangalore.
