For being eligible to get EWS reservation certificate, the income of family should be less than 8 lakh per annum. Here the family is denoting all the persons who are is 18 or above in that particular family. Now if we add the income of you and your father and considering that you are above 18 years, you would not be eligible for getting the EWS certificate.

Individuals  who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs and whose family has a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) is to be identified as EWSs for benefit of reservation.

----- Income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application

You would be eligible to avail the EWS Category Benefits only if your family DON'T fulfil any of the below mentioned criteria -

• 5 acres of agricultural land and above;

• A residential flat of 1000 sq ft. and above;

• A residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;

• A residential, plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than than notified municipalities.

------- The term “Family” for this purpose will include the person who seeks the benefit of reservation, his/her parents and siblings below the age of 18 years as also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.

------- The property held by a “Family” in different locations or different places/cities would be clubbed while applying the land. or property holding test to determine EWS status.

So if you go through the aforementioned criteria, your family income exceeds 8Lakh and hence you won't be able to avail the EWS category certificate.
