You can apply to colleges before and after the result it majorly depends on the institute you are applying .Say suppose you Want to K J somaiya institute of management studies then you need to stay updated with their website . last year they kept last date for registartion 3-4 days before the result dates. so you have to first need to calculate how many marks your getting by checking the Answer keys then you can roughly understand how much percentile you will get.  many institute keep last date fto apply prior to the results so that they can manage further activities as early as as possible . Also they usually give call by considering many factors such as job profile , work experience etc l there are many colleges to whih you can apply through CMAT . there are various diffrent criteria for various diffrent collges as such so you have to stay connected with the official college website.

CMAT is scheduled on Jan 28,29 2019 and it's results are to be declared on Feb 10,2019.
After the declaration of results,all the institutes which accept CMAT scores declare their cutoff and the students eligible are called.
All of this takes place after the merit list is released and further for selection,usually GD,WAT and a PI is held.
