You should give Gate exam and if you get qualified with very good score then you can take admission in IITs and this score will also open the door for PSUs as there are many PSUs provide job for ME. So better to go for Gate exam, this will work for you but you will have to work really hard to get admission in IITs or for recruitment in PSUs.
