If you are getting a good job after diploma then it is best to grab it otherwise go for engineering lateral entry.
Generally students got a job of average package 4-5 lakhs per annum after diploma in some big companies. If you are able to grab such job than it is good otherwise job options after engineering is also there.
If you are not satisfied with 4-5 lakh of salary package then it is better to go for engineering because packages after engineering are much higher and values of person after engineering will be much more then any diploma guy.

I will suggest you to go for lateral entry. Since  you hsve taken EEE branch  , you will get more opportunities in both private and public sector after completing engineering as engineer with decent package.
diploma level, there are job opportunities available but, compared to engineering degree you can only get industrial techician positions in your field .
