Hi,

Though it is difficult to tell the exact percentile as it varies every year to some extent depending on factors like category, difficulty level of exam, number of student appeared etc.

But with the previous years percentile analysis we can have a rough idea about percentile.

So Yes, with this percentile you can expect a percentile above 90 in the range of 99.23 - 99.43. with this percentile you can expect a rank in between 5090 - 6740.

As you have chances of getting good rank. You can get many good colleges. To check the colleges or branches which you can expect from this percentile you can use the college predictor tool

Hope it helps.

170 marks in Jee Main paper 1 means you can expect a percentile in the range of 99.23 to 99.43 which means your expected rank would be around 5000 to 8000. But this is your expected rank as the actual rank depends on various deciding factors such as your category, number of students appeared in the exam, highest score obtained etc. Considering you as a general category student with this rank, you can surely get into NITs but getting CSE in top NITs might be difficult as the CSE seats of those NITs lie around 3000 rank. However, you can get other branches such as Civil, electrical in top NITs such as Warangal, Surathkal, Nagpur, Rourkela, Trichy etc. However you haven't mentioned your home state quota. You can expect CSE in NITs such as Jalandhar, Raipur, Patna, Silchar, Uttarakhand etc. However this is based on previous years' data and this year it might change. You can predict your college through our Jee Main College Predictor tool http://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor Check the cutoffs of all NITs here http://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches

Abhishek your category would be around 800 to 1900. Going by last years' rank, it might be difficult to get CSE in Surathkal, but you can expect Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Information Technology.
