Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
Hello dear...
totally doubt whether you can get into any NIT or not, especially as you belong to general category. But do write your advanced exam well. Don’t loose your time in thinking about what nit you can get and what you can’t. You shall have enough time after 21st to think about it.
You might have written several other exams. If you get seats there of your choice, you can take admission over there.
One thing more, if you are a fresher and you have a confidence that you can do it much better next time, then surely work hard and most importantly, NEVER CHEAT YOURSELF. The day you start doing so, be sure that you can’t succeed.
B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN
So, be true to yourself and work hard.
All the best..!!!
You should branch first, then college. Don’t run behind the name of the college. You should choose a stream in which you have interest. Because if you have interest then you do best and best is selected by the company. There are many colleges where you can get admission without counseling. There are some Private Universities which are very good. They provide good Infrastructure, Faculty and Placements. You should choose a college which give you opportunity to work in live projects and give you good exposure. You may browse some web sites and check their details like Lovely Professional University, Nirma University, Noida International University etc...
Basically there are two possibilities :-
You are deeply interested in Computer Science and enjoy being and working in the virtual world.
You equally prefer all the branches and have no knowledge as to what are you going to be taught in the college years.
If you are in category (1) ——- Go for CS in any good college.
If you are in category (2) ——— prefer NITs.(any branch unless you hate a branch in particular)
As far as CHEMICAL engineering in MNIT Jaipur is concerned, you are going to get good exposure and ground to research, get placed etc.
BRANCH should always be preferred.
Looking at last year stats candidates get following branches in Top Colleges with your rank (All India General Quota) in JEE Main Counselling.
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad: 5 yrs. Integrated MTech (Bio medical Engineering)
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi: Chemical Engineering and Production Engineering
MNIT Allahabad: Bio Tech
Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Sonepat, Haryana: IT
Go for NIT Silchar CSE in case you are getting.
Each year the Computer Science & Engineering department in NIT Silchar is making a record in training & placements.
As a student of Class of 2016 (passed out in May, 2016) I will quote few record placements of this session:-
Highest package grabbed in NIT Silchar was from CSE Department : 14.2 LPA -DirectI.
Highest package offered : 35 LPA - Works Applications (In Japan, Shanghai & Singapore) and 24 LPA - Headout (In India). (None made it though)
4 Pre-placement Offers from Goldman Sachs after the internship (in Summer 2015) and 2 on-campus hiring - 14 LPA. (total hired = 6)
2 Pre-placement Offers after the internship (in Summer 2015) from Equifax Inc(Bangalore)
This year the first week of the 4th year session (7th semester) observed around 20 on-campus placements with offers above 6 LPA.
Prestigious companies like Samsung R & D, Wells Fargo recruited around a dozen peeps with the offer above 8 LPA.
And there are many companies except IT Firms (Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Accenture etc) who offered above and around 6 LPA. Theses includes companies like SAP Labs, People Interactive, Polaris, Reliance JIO, PwC, etc(so much companies that I don’t remember all names)
