Hello Aspirant!

  • The admission cut-offs for government medical colleges in Bihar are quite high even under the 85 percent state quota. Last year, it was between 533 and 552 for UR candidates.
  • However, this year, with the introduction of the EWS reservation system, the EWS candidates have greater chances to get a seat.
  • Under this system, the cut-offs for EWS candidates won't vary much with the non -EWS UR candidates but they will have a greater chance to acquire a seat for the same marks.
  • In that case, your marks are little bit low to get a govt. MBBS seat.
  • However, this is a newly introduced reservation system, so it os difficult to say anything with 100% assurance. Therefore, keep checking the rank lists regularly.

Hello,
As you mentioned with 438 marks, your chances of getting a decent government college in your state through state quota(85%) are negligible as in first round counselling the cutoff is 538 marks for ews category.
However you might get some good private medical college in your state through state quota.
As the admission to medical colleges based on NEET is given under All India Quota(15%) and state quota(85%).
