61 is a good Percentile indeed but I am sorry to say there are tough chances of getting a nit college.
You can go for the state wise colleges as they also accept the jee main scores for the admissions.

Hello student as per the new notifications released by MHRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank he mentioned that Candidates must passed in class 12 there's no passing eligibility criteria for admission into NIT's IIITs IIITs. But admission is directly based on the marks/rank obtained in the JEE entrance examination.

Cut off vary every year on various factors like the level of question in the entrance examination and total number of applicants in that examination.

With 61 percentile in Jee main paper 2 its difficult to get admission in NIT's as we all know that seats are very limited and admission is directly based on merit rank.
