Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
Hello Aspirant. You mentioned you belong to SC category. So, your Category Rank will be considered during counselling process. Now, you asked whether you have any chance to get a seat at any branch of NIT. Well, based on your result and as far as previous years' cutoff trends are concerned, it is less likely for you to get a seat for any stream at any branch of NIT, IIIT or GFTI.
To secure a seat at one of the top-rated branches of NIT, IIIT or GFTI for core streams, you must aim for a SC Category Rank of at least 7000 to be on the safe side of the game. For this Category Rank, the corresponding CRL-AIR will be anywhere around 150-160K. If I say in terms of percentile, a SC candidate needs to fetch at least 85-86 percentile to get chance to grab a seat at any of the popular branches of NIT.
