HiiiIf you appear in both the sessions of JEE Mains i.e January as well as april, The best of the two scores would be considered.If the scores of January session are higher than the april one, then those only will be used to calculated your final result as well as your rank.The final result would be declared after the April session is conducted. For the final ranking, the best of the score of the two attempts are considered. So, if your score in the second attempt is better than the first attempt, the percentile score of the first attempt will not be considered for the final rank list.
