As your rank is considerebly low for chemical engineering in vit Chennai but you can wait for last round of counseling in vit because it takes admission phase wise therefore you may have chance of getting your desired branch.follow the link to get more information

According to previous years analysis with such rank you have to fight till the last round counseling else you can take admission other than vellure branch.
