Considering previous year's statistics and your rank, I am really sorry but there is very less chance for you to get a NIT . Even you must have noticed that the ranks are pretty good. However, dont lose hope, fill the preferences as you want them to be as the counselling process can be at times very much unpredictable. (try for NITs like, NIT silchar, NIT agartala etc)

I regret to inform you that with such a low score you cannot get admission into any prestigious college of engineering like nits or iiits.

As nits or iiits are one of the most sought after college in feild of engineering so they have high cutoffs for the candidates to get admission.e ven in lower nits the cutoff for obc candidates ends up at maximum rank of 16k to 18k.

With this score it becomes quite tough for you to get a seat in any nit college, however if you are from north eastern states then you have some chances of getting nits in those states as their cut offs are generally low.
You can drop one year to prepare for Jee as well.
