Firstly you must understand that admission in NIT or any college through JEE has nothing to do with your boards percentage because for admission in any college only you JEE mains score will be considered.Earlier it was compulsory to score 75% marks in boards in order to be eligible for admission in NITs,IIITs and GFTIs but due to covid-19 effect on exams, this criteria was removed.
Now, considering you JEE mains percentile it will be hard to predict you exact chances and you also haven't mentioned your category.I would recommend you to use our JEE mains college predictor to check which college you could possibly get.I am providing you the link below :

As you have mentioned that you have scored 90 percentile in jee mains and 85 percentage in your 12th boards then there are possibilities that you may get some of the NITs easily. When you clear your jee then you have to do online counselling and then you will be called for it. Also you have to give priorities for the colleges in which you can get admission. For better priorities you can predict your college by our predictor.

Hope you are fine. In 90 percentile, your rank will be 184000 something. You can get seat in lower NIT colleges in Last round of Jossa or may be in CSAB round. You can try for other colleges like KL University or other top Private Colleges.  Second attempt is left so prepare hard for Second Attempt.
