I’m not entirely sure but I believe this is first time admissions based on JEE main’s score is being done. I would imagine it’s hard to predict who will apply with what JEE score and so the selection pattern is somewhat unpredictable.

Also, if you are interested in CSE, consider studying at Amritapuri campus. There are very good student clubs which makes it worth studying there. The answers to following questions would be helpful; there are more answers out there by many others with their perspective. Also, many members of these clubs are active on social media so feel free to reach out to them.
