Hello Hari Vardhan, If you got 97 percentile in JEE Main paper 1 then your rank after JEE Main April will be around 30 thousand, with this rank will get NIT's like NIT Srinagar, NIT Nagaland, NIT Utrakhand, NIT Durgapur etc differing from branch to branch depending upon the NIT.

Dear Aspirant,

For a general category student you might find it hard  to get into NITs however, if  you have chance in your home state NIT if your home state NIT is a lower NIT like Uttarakhand, etc.

You also have a strong chance in your home NITs if you have OBC or SC/ST reservation. However, you might not get top branch in case of OBC, and if your HS NIT is top or medium NIT like Jaipur or Allahabad.
