The rank you have got is not good enough for taking admission in Top Colleges in Karnataka. There are lots of colleges in Karnataka but those are not good enough like NIE Mysore, RV, etc.

In my opinion you should look for different colleges which have good placement like VIT,DIT,ITER,Graphic Era,etc.

The colleges which i have mentioned have a reasonable fees and a very good campus life.

And there are some colleges like UPES,LNMIIT,KIIT,etc. Whose placement is good but fees is very high.

Meanwhile,how did you got your Rank before examination??

Considering your rank and the previous year cutoff trends , you have good chances to get an IS seat but tough chances for CS seat as the closing ranks for IS and CSE seat were 29057 and 12687 last year respectively .So , from this i hope that you get my point .

Congrats on your rank.

Last year, the cutoff for the GM category for CSE was 6000 rank and for ISE, it was 8800.

In 2017, the cutoff for the GM category for CSE was 5962 and for ISE, it was 8761.

In 2016, the cutoff for the GM category for CSE was 11106 and for ISE, it was 16156.

I don't think you have a chance for CSE but you might have a chance for the ISE branch based on your rank.

If you are from the HKR category, then you can get both.
