Congrats for your success in VITEEE exam.I am happy to tell you that you have a high chance of getting CSE branch in VIT Vellore since you have a very good rank.Also, CSE is the most opted branch in this campus.The placements are also good.So you may go for it.

You have asked the difference between CSE and IT.Both these courses are more or less similar.Only the course structure will be different.IT can be said as a sub division of CSE and it focuses more on application of computing technology to real life processes.In IT you learn more about modern technologies like Angular JS,Cloud Computing and Functional Programing etc.CSE has a balanced approach between application and theory.The students learn about the design, implementaion and management of Information systems of various hardware and software processes.Both CS and IT students learn programming languages, work on creating and protecting data and provide solutions real time problems.
