Yes, you can apply for Common Admission Test (CAT) even if you have backlog in fifth semester. Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s Degree from any University/ Institute or B.Tech/ B.E. from any recognized University/ Institute with minimum 50% marks if belonging to general category or 45% marks if belonging to reserved category are eligible to apply for CAT. Candidates who are appearing in final year examination in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provisionally.
You can apply for CAT but you must clear the backlog and pass in the Bachelors Degree with minimum 50% marks if you belong to general category or 45% marks if you belong to reserved category. You must obtain the results before the cut off date specified. If you are CAT 2022 aspirant then the application process for CAT 2022 is expected to start in the month of August 2022.
