First of congratulations for choosing MBA as a career . MAT is all India exam conducted by AIMA . So you many colleges from all over India accept it scores , you can check the college names while filling the form , they ask for 5 college names for preferance and it doesn't mean you can apply for rest colleges you can apply for all college which accept mat score . And some of good college accept mat score of pgdm and MBA like SIES, Mumbai , IES Mumbai , alliance university , Bangalore .

And many colleges of up too accept mat score . So if you have decided any college in which you want to take admission you can the exam score accepted by them in eligibility criteria . If it only accept upsee then you have to give upsee exam and if you wanted to study in other states upsee is of no use as upsee is only accepted by up colleges.
