Hey student,

One can give compartment exam the same year, same as the one in which you gave your boards, that too if they were not able to perform up to the mark in any one of the five subjects. If anyone fails to give that exam or is not able to pass it, then he or she will have to give the exam for all the 5 subjects the next year. This could be given even after 2 years. But we cant call it a compartment exam.
