The EWS certificate (Economically weaker Section) is valid for 1 year in most of the states but you can check with the revenue department official site to know whether your state EWS certificate is valid for 1 year or 6 months.

If it is expired you can apply and get the new certificate which will be valid for the next 1 year.

It is also called as Income and asset certificate and you can avail it from your local government authority.
