According to your query,

Your rank is good and chances are also good to get you seat in NITs with this rank. But you may not get high ranking branches like C.S.E, E.C.E, etc. You can get bio technology, chmical engineering, production engineering in following NITs in accordance of previous year's cut-offs:-

1. NIT jamshedpur
2. NIT, Surat
3. NIT, Andhra Pradesh(state)

And many more come in this list...

Admission in NITs, IIITs and various GFTIs is given on the basis of JEE-MAINS paper 1 CRL and not on the basis of Category rank.
If you have a CRL under 40k, then you can definitely get a good branch in a reputed NIT and even CS in some good NITs.
You can try for NIT Rourkela, NIT kurukshetra, NIT surakhtal and NIT Delhi.
