Generally the aggregate factor required to pursue postgraduate courses through regular mode is 45%-50%, this varies among colleges, and people belonging to reserved categories get 5% relaxation also, with your given aggregate it's difficult to get admission through regular mode, what you can do is you can go for open universities,  to provide you an example IGNOU offers MA English, and there is no such requirement of specific aggregate in this case, but you also need to know why have you scored low marks in graduation, are you at all interested in higher studies or the subject itself, it's not compulsory for everyone to go for master's degree, also the choice of pursuing a course has to be in aligned with future goals, so you need to think about all these, you can also consider appearing for government exams such as UPSC, state PSCs, banking/insurance, railways, SSC CGL/CPO, CDS etc, majority of these don't ask for any specific aggregate, they require candidate to only pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized University, yes competition is very high and one needs to be extremely focused, dedicated and persistent in one's efforts to qualify these exams.
