The cutoff varies from year to year. Just to have an idea about their rank they compare with previous years cutoffs. The actual cutoff may increase or decrease. The same thing happened in your case.

But how can there be a difference of 10000 ranks between predicted and actual rank. Moreover in previous year, same marks got 10000 less rank. And its said this year less number of candidates appeared.

Hello aspirant!!
The vary might be due to easiness of the paper. Because of that the change is in 10000. The predictions are based on previous years cutoffs. The cutoffs varies from year to year. We can't decide the vary range because it depends on the hardness of paper, marks obtained by students etc.
