The purpose of improvement exams is to help a student to improve his/her scores if he/she is not satisfied with the marks, now its a generous opportunity given by the CBSE board but its obvious since its just to improve your previous scores your failing or getting RT will not have any effect to your original CBSE mark sheet. It is valid and you can still use it. Remember improvement exam is allowed only once.
