You can take JEE maiin,but you must be within top 20 percentile in your board exam otherwise you will not be eligible for admission in NIT etc or to take JEE adv.

You are eligible to take admission in JEE Mains 2017. According, to the new changes No weightage for Class XII results for JEE Main Rank List from 2017.
