The bachelors course offered in Sociology i.e. BA sociology is for a duration of 3 years. Hence if you want to pursue a bachelors degree in India in sociology then it will take a minimum of 3 years. Whereas if you puruse Masters in Sociology ie MA in Sociology  after your bachelors degree in English then it will take 2 years. The eligiblity criteria for various universities for this course is a bachelors degree in any stream. But a few reputed colleges may require you to have a degree in Sociology or have sociology as one of the subejcts. So you can choose your college accordingly.
