Dear Aspirant,
It is not like if you have more marks in one particular exam over other then the marks of those exams are considered. All exams have some fixed set of colleges which gave admissions on the basis of your score/rank in that particular exam.
For example, NITs give admissions on the basis of JEE MAINS score. It does not matter how well or bad you have performed in JEE ADVANCED. Admission to NITs will only be given on the basis of JEE MAINS.
