One must either earn a minimum of 75% overall in class 12 (or 65% for SC/ST students) or place in the top 20% of their respective board in order to be admitted to one of the NITs or IITs.

According to NTA's information, the following formula can be used to determine their overall percent:

The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks of the candidates (and also the cut-off marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion) (and also the cut-off marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion).

Hello aspirant,

YES, you will be eligible to take admissions in any NIT through JEE mains providing you will clear the minimum Cutoff rank required to get into NIT through JEE mains.

Furthermore, The Eligibility criteria for admission in NIT is as follows :

Students should have passed the 12th class with a minimum of 75% marks or they should be in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 exam (65% for SC/ST candidates).

So, according to the eligibility criteria, you are eligible to take admission in NIT through JEE mains. But still you have to score a minimum cutoff rank in JEE mains to get admission in NIT.
