Hello sahithi,

Ews reservation is a vertical type reservation in which a 10% percent reservation is provided for only those who are economically weaker section from open category. It is just like other reservations which are provided to sc, st, obc. Let us take an example, there are 100 seats and 150 students and reservations of 10% each for sc, st, obc. (before ews).

Then you scored a rank 110 among the 150 students and the seats are 100 only in addition to thaf there are no reservations for you and so you can't able to get a seat.

AFTER EWS

A 10% of reservation is given for you, even if your rank is 110 you can definitely get a seat. As the 10% percent ews seats are only filled by your category students regardless of your rank .

This is how ews helps in studies and govt jobs

Hope this helps  :)
