No, A graduation degree with 45% marks (40% for reserved category) is the basic qualification required.

Sorry Pratiksha, you can not apply for LLB by just clearing 12 as you have to first graduate from any discipline to apply for LLB. You should have atleast 45% Bachelors Degree from any discipline and there is no specific subject requirement.Admissions are done either on the basis of marks in qualifying degree or through some entrance test like CLAT.

Hello Pratiksha,

As you have passed your 12th grade and now want to pursue LL.B.

For that, you can apply for the admission test/entrance exam which is known as CLAT(Common Law Admission Test).

But before that, you must pursue any bachelor degree because for pursuing LL. B., the minimum criteria is undergraduate degree.

Other than that, there is no stream boundation. You can apply for it through any stream.

Many colleges provides 5 year integrated course of LL.B. and some other degree like bba or bsc or bcom, etc.

But as you've mentioned that you want toapply for 3 yr course then try doing any UG course.

Anyways the total duration will be equivalent to 5 years.

Hope it helps!!

Hi dear,

To pursue " 3 year " LLB course you need to complete your graduation.A graduation degree with 45% marks (40% for reserved category) is the basic qualification required.

Any student who has passed Class 12 with 50% marks (less 5 % for reserved categories) or has appeared for the Class 12 is eligible to write CLAT and other law entrance exams. Please note that CLAT is for " 5 year " integrated course after 12th . A candidate was needed to be below 20 years of age as on July 1 to be eligible for CLAT, however, the criteria has now been scrapped after a Supreme Court's order in 2015.
