IIT provides full (100%)exemption in  fee tuitions to all the SC/ST students.

i.e. A student from SC/ST will not have to the pay the fees irrespective of his annual income.

The IITs now do not charge any fees for applicants whose household income is less than Rs 1 lakh annually. Students whose families earn between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh per year are eligible for a 2/3 tuition fee waiver.

The full fee remission for SC, ST, EBC, and differently abled students was the subject of discussion, though.
