Brother you just finished your class 12 exam.
Have fun ,chill,  spend some time with your friends.
If you have any entrance exam left prepare for that

Now talking about gate part,  Engineering course for every branch is almost same in first year and is not asked in GATE EXAM.  Engineering Mathematics is totally different from school mathematics except one or two topics.

If you are really interested in EEE.  Then start learning in deep about various electrical and components like CAPACITOR, INDUCTOR, DIODES, TRANSISTOR, OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER, ARDINO BOARD,  MICROPROCESSOR  through you tube videos.  Don't run for bookish knowledge in your vacations.

You should start preparing for GATE when you get into a college and start understanding ehat college studies is all about, what is syllabus of gate.

Ideally you should start preparing for gate in second semester of engineering.

There is no as such best time to start preparation for GATE entrance test. The syllabus covered in GATE exam is whole of engineering subjects and the stream you have selected. To start with critical preparation of GATE, start from 2nd year of Engineering, so that you would be able to give test in the 4th year or passing out of Engineering. Make the subject base strong from 1st year itself and then give mock tests in 3rd and 4th year of engineering. Practice with the help of mocks tests available online or offline classes. Some of the tests are available free of cost as well. You can refer to YouTube videos as well, as it provides different types of solutions for a single problem. This would let you know how to attempt answers in GATE and with what accuracy.

See the correct time for starting for GATE prepapration is in the second year as in the paper u will be getting question for ur branch papers and that study is going to start in ur second year. So now there is no such rush to study for it but u can make ur base clear for the bteach study in the EEE branch as it is the most wast and the hardest stream in the engineering discipline.
