Dear Aspirant,

If you have completed your 12th ( in any subject), you can go for a undergraduate degree. To become a Counsellor in India, you need to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/ Counselling Psychology/ Clinical Psychology or any other similar subject. After completing a graduate degree in Counselling, you have to go for a career in Mental Health counselling or Career counselling.

Once you complete this, then getting an appropriate training/ certificate in counselling / mental health or career counselling will give an edge to your career.

You can also go for masters after completing your bachelors and then you can think about going for a professional training or certification in Career counselling/ Mental Health Counselling.
