Civil engineering has many sub branches like structural engg., water resources, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction management etc. which can further have profile as consultant and as field engineer. Best way to gain confidence so that you are able to answer interview question is to have actual field experience as an intern or trainee in field of your interest.
