Yes , there are lateral entry exams for BTech conducted by most of the state for polytechnic and Undergraduate students by which you can directly get admission to BTech 2nd year.

In West Bengal the exam name is JELET. Like that your state may conduct such exams which will give you admission in BTech course at state government colleges/universities as well as Private colleges in your state.
