Hello!
"yes'' NATA exam are take twice a year ,in which you score high on the basis of that your rank in determine.If you appare in 1st exam and absent in second exam thwn first exam score will be consider for ranking.

What i wanted to ask was would i be at a disadvantage at getting a college given that i missed the first exam

No disadvantage of not giving the exam,just you have to score well in second exam.
