If your rank is below 28k(most accurately) then you can get seats in govt colleges(upto 2 nd round of counselling)

As your rank is 7986  you ll get the top govt colleges and  you can opt for the course in which you are intrested

Marks vs ranks changes every year, but rank vs college doesn't change much
