Hello student the best way to get rid of any social media application is Uninstall. No matter how much you try to use it only in free time but as it's very addictive you end up wasting so much Time in social media specially instagram. Once you open instagram you come across reels and then it's very difficult to close the application as the video is only of 15 - 30 second we thought it's small video let's watch few of them but we end up hours watching it.

So uninstall instagram and focus on  your study so that you can score good and get admission in top college.

Feel free to comment if you've any doubt

Good luck

See phone addiction is one of the most common behavioral problems as observed in the last decade. Thus if you are addicted in mobile phones then without your strong wiling power it wont be possible to get rid from it. For any kind of addiction, its a psychological trick that you should decrease the addiction with time. Now for your case you use 5hours in mobile phone. I would say start using your phone for 4 hours a day for 1 week then in the next week reduce 1 hour and follow it for 2 week. After the completion of 3 week you will find that the affinity towards mobile phone have decrease. Now at this moment you have to take strong step. Reduce your usage to 1hour. You will find it difficult at first but with time you will get accustomed with it. So don't worry! and try to do things which you are interested in during this time. After this you will adopt this behavior.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Hey,

Social media can have a negative impact on your brain. You may be addicted to social media and use it excessively. Scrolling through articles, photographs, and videos can become so habitual that it interferes with other aspects of your life.

Consider the following suggestions to help you establish a better social media balance:

  • Remove all of your social networking apps from your phone. While you can still access them from your computer, removing them off your phone may help you spend less time on social media in general.
  • Set aside a specific amount of time each day for social networking. Set a timer to help you stay accountable.
  • Turn off your personal phone at work, at school, at meals, and during recreational activities. You may also turn off some notifications by adjusting the settings on each social networking app.
  • Take up a new activity that isn't tied to technology. Sports, art, cooking classes, and other activities are examples.
  • When feasible, make it a point to see your friends and family in person.
