Yes you can practice in New York. But before that you have to clear the New York State bar examination. After qualifying the examination you have to give the language examination and clear it also. But there is no general license for practice law there , so many Indian students pursue LLM in US then give the bar examination. So you have to think all of these matter before going to practice there. May be you have to study again the masters degree there then you can practice. Also show them the legal certificate of your bachalor degree in law from India.
