She should try both traditional drawing with pencil and paper and mess around with digital drawing on easy-to-use apps or software. This way, she will get comfortable with both styles.

Small projects help a lot, too. She can make a flipbook, try a short animation, or put together a simple storyboard. That’s how she will pick up on movement and how to tell a story with pictures. Signing up for art workshops, checking out online tutorials, or joining short classes for her age group will keep her motivated and give her some direction. Plus, it makes the whole thing more fun.
